ABOUT THE WORK
A widowed farmer, his daughter Mara and the woman she loves, from the Upper Murray's snowmelt to the Coorong at the sea.
The soprano sings the love story. The tenor sings the people who have to catch up with it. They sing together for the firsttime in the finale, where the river meets the sea. A work about love, family and the slow work of learning to say what you feel, set in weirs, Malle halls, Hills hoists, long highways and floods.

The water always leaves us, and the water always comes back.
Help bring this one home.
